Water Resources
David
W. Moody received an A.B. in geology from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Geography from The Johns Hopkins
University. He is currently an
independent water resources consultant.
From 1994 to 2002 he worked with the Organization of American States,
where he managed the Inter-American Water Resources Network. Earlier in his career, he served 32 years
with the U.S. Geological Survey. In the
latter part of his federal service he was Assistant Chief Hydrologist for Water
Assessment and Data Coordination.
In
1976, Moody was selected by the American Political Science Association as a
Congressional Fellow and spent a year on Capitol Hill on the staffs of the
House Interior and Insular Affairs Committee and the Senate Energy and Natural
Resources Committee. He is a recipient of the U.S. Department of the Interior's
Meritorious Service Award and Distinguished Service Award and the U.S.
Department of Agriculture's Distinguished Service Award. In 1992, he received
the Presidential Meritorious Executive Rank Award from the U.S.
Government. He has also received awards
from the Soil and Water Conservation Society and from the American Water
Resources Association.
